It really is very simple.
Our time here isn’t very long, and it’s very easy to spend it in a never-ending cycle of monotony, wishing you were anywhere but where you are right now.
It’s very easy to seek outlets to escape from an existence that doesn’t nourish or fulfill your soul.
It’s very easy to succumb to a comfort zone that doesn’t feel comfortable at all—to become accustomed to the disquiet that makes a home beneath your skin, to become attached to the unease that embeds itself into your bones.
It’s very easy to believe this way of living is normal—that every breath you take until the last is meant to be steeped in discontent.
This way of living may have become normalized, but it is not normal.
You aren’t here just to get through this life.
You are here to live.
And no matter how deeply you’re entrenched in the life you know, there is still an opportunity to alter your trajectory.
There’s still time to excavate through the layers of fear and trepidation that have formed a home in your innermost being—to reach beyond your own justifications for why you can’t or won’t or shouldn’t—and dig for the truth that exists deep down in your core.
There’s still a chance to listen to this thing deep inside yourself that knows beyond logic or reason that there is more to this existence.
As long as the breath of life still flows inside you—there is still time.
The road ahead will not always be easy. You will trade in known challenges for unknown ones. There will be hardships that feel like they may break you. (They won’t.) There will be moments when you feel like you can’t keep going. (You can.)
But on the other end of the unknown path, the something more you feel deep inside you is waiting. People and experiences that you haven’t yet met, that you haven’t yet dreamt about, await within its perimeter. There is more than the cycles, the monotony, the wish of a life fully lived. There is so much more to all of this.
At times, you may start to feel a little overwhelmed by the gravity of this shift, but please remember—it really is very simple.
Our time here isn’t very long.
And you are worthy of a life that nourishes and fulfills your soul.
You are worthy of the gratitude that fills every cell of your being when you survey the immenseness of your life and realize it was so much more beautiful than you ever believed possible.
You are worthy of the peace that settles into your bones when you realize you could want for nothing more than what you have right now.
You are worthy of a full life.
You are worthy of knowing genuine joy and bone-deep contentment.
You are worthy of more.
